Probably, he is the only fat man who will not get offended when you call him “fat.” Well, not that fat. He looked like a teddy bear in his youth days.
One of the most celebrated rock and roll artists of 20th century, American pianist and singer/songwriter Antoine "Fats" Domino, Jr., whose age is 89 as of 2015, is often credited for his contributions to jazz, blues, boogie-woogie, and nevertheless to rock and rock and roll. He has influenced many musicians including John Lenon and Paul McCartney.
Now, moving on to his physical configuration, the New Orleans native is not a tall man with the height of 5 feet and 4 inches. However, his unique short hairstyle, charming smile, and laid-back personality are the ornaments of his distinct eye-catchy looks.
Perhaps, the net worth of $8 million dollars may not be enough for the man who has outsold most of the rock and roll pioneers. But, given the fact that Elves Presley surpassed everyone, he achieved a lot. Simply, he is the man who has only relied on his music - never hanging out with a showy side of rock n roll.
Musician Billy Diamond discovered the man who could already play piano and sing in his children days, Fats Domino. He gave the young boy several chances to play with his band. Later, Billy worked as his promoter and road manager.
As of 2015, he is single. Previously, he was married to his wife, Rosemary Domino. Fats spent 60 wonderful years as her loving husband. So, what happened? Did he have a divorce?
No, his marriage ended because of Rosemary's death in the year 2008.
The couple also experienced the mighty Hurricane Katrina (2005) together. Rosemary and Fats couldn’t leave their Louisiana-based home because of Rosemary’s poor health.
Fats loved his wife so much that he decided to stay with his family in the house not pondering about the storm vicious nature.
However, the storm took him apart from his family, and he went missing for days until a coast guard found him. After that, it was easy- peasy for CNN to debunk the “Rock n Roll legend is dead” theory.
Meanwhile, inside our office, this story reminded our editor the 90’s hit song “ Love Grows When My Rosemary Grows” and he is dancing.
Interestingly, all of the couple’s eight children first name start with the letter “A.”
Anyway, he is not a gay as he was happily married and has never stated that he is. Plus, listen to his hit song “Am I Blue……. Was I Gay” and you will know he is not a gay.
Unfortunately, you cannot connect to him on Twitter as he has no twitter account. It seems like he is not a social network savvy person.
Plus, when Twitter came into existence he was in his sixties. However, you can watch his famous songs like “The Fat Man,” "Ain’t That a Shame," “Alive and Kicking, and much more via YouTube.
