Kaity Tong is a Chinese-born American journalist. She has been working as a news anchor since 1981. 69 years old Tong was born in Qingdao, China and later grew up in the United States. She moved to the US with her parents at the age of 4.

You read about her because she has been a popular and respected anchor on television since the 80s. Tong is believed to be paid a handsome salary by the network. Her net worth is $4.5 million.

Despite the controversies she has faced, she has come a long way. But sometimes things like this happen! 

2010 was a controversial year for her. Tong was given a bad review and pay cuts because she believed her news director at WPIX were trying to get rid of her because of her age. She was devastated and surprised, she said. Later she won a lawsuit in which the news director Karen Scott and other personnel at WPIX, who accused Tong had to leave the job after testifying in court. 

Her family had a strong influence on her. It led her to graduate with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English literature and join a doctoral program at Stanford University in Chinese and Japanese literature. These academic achievements brought her closer to her aim of becoming a broadcast journalist.

She started her career with a summer job as a morning editor and producer at San Francisco KPIX-TV all-news radio while studying at Stanford. 

KPIX-TV was just the beginning. She then worked at many different places, which gained her the much-needed experiences and network in the television industry.

She is currently working at WPIX, which is a top news channel on the CW network. She is one of the top female anchors at the canal right now. She currently does the weekend anchoring for the station. 

These successes brought her many rewards and honors. She was honored by the Rotary International with its Paul Harris Fellowship. She is the first person to receive the honor.

She has also received a Champion of Excellence Award from the Organization of Chinese Americans. And the highest honor she has received is the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for her work. 

Talking about her looks, Kaity has a sexy Asian look. With her tilted cat eyes and soft porcelain skin, she rules the field of news anchoring. Wearing a pencil skirt and high heels while flaunting her hot legs, she is always one of the best dressed female anchors. She prefers heels for her feet as she believes it adds to her height and helps her look tall, bold and confident. 

Kaity has a son, Philip Long, with her ex-husband Robert Long, who was the vice president at KNBC-TV. She later divorced Long and married a photographer named Patrick Callahan. But she has already been divorced with Patrick too!

On March 2010, an interview of hers was aired titled Meet a New York Legend – Kaity Tong. People appreciated her efforts to share her ups and downs both in her personal and professional life. This interview raised questions about Kaity having plastic surgery done to her. Some audiences posted online that she must have had a surgery and a facelift otherwise she would look old. These criticisms didn’t affect Kaity at all.
