Murphy Lee is an American rapper, and one of the members of St. Lunatics, a Hip-Hop band. The founder of U C Me Entertainments Co., he is also a Grammy Winner who has released about 10 albums in his 20 years of professional rapping. He grew up in St. Louis and formed the band with his fellows Nelly, Ali, Kyjuan, and City Spud in the late 90s. Having recorded one song "Gimmie What You Got", it was hard for the team to find a record producer. Their expenses were getting way too much, and since none of the four had any decent jobs, it became really tough for them to work on. One of the band members Nelly, though about releasing a single’s record and in the year 2000, released his song “Country Grammar”. It became an instant hit and people started to recognize the St. Lunatics, which was what they needed. They started to perform live and also received invitations to tour and perform in other places. This boosted the much-needed confidence in the team, and helped them release their first album Free City, 2001.
The next year, he and Jermain Dupree did a song together “Welcome to Atlanta”, in a remixed form and in 2003, the sound track for Bad Boys 2 movie was released under the name "Shake Ya Tailfeather”. The song was recorded by P Diddy and featured Nelly, which became a blockbuster of a track. This popularity brought a recording company to sign them, Fast Life and they finally had a sponsor. But 5 years had passed and they didn’t release their second album, which was a bad thing for the business of record company. So, they pushed the band and made them release their second album “Who's The Boss” in 2006. The album was not a complete version, and the band members were not satisfied with what they had to offer, but the pressure was just too much. That album had so many covered songs, which the band had performed in their early days, and “If it was for us, we would never release it. But they had the right over the CD, our hands were tied”, said Murphy.
