Sensationally talented James Reid is a Filipino-Australian actor, singer, songwriter, dancer and karateka who own dual Filipino and Australian citizenship. He was born as Robert James Reid on May 11, 1993 to a Filipino mother, Maria Aprilyn Marquinez and an Australian father, Robert Malcolm Reid with white ethnicity. His mother was a former singer. Grown up in both Philippines and Australia, James showed his multi talented nature since his early days. At the age of two, James parents had a divorce and then he started to live with his father at Australia until he was fifteen years old.

As his father was in need of some medical attention and they were facing financial issues, he moved to Philippines with only his father.
