Ben Kingsley (Krishna Pandit Bhanji) is an English actor who was born on 31st December 1943 in Snainton, North Riding of Yorkshire with mixed ethnicity. He is the son of very famous Anna Lyna Mary who was a great actress and model in late 1920s and 1930s and Rahimtulla Harji Bhanji who was a medical doctor. He is well known for his best performance in movies like Lucky Number Slevin, Schindler's List, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Sexy Beast, Shutter Island, Hugo and Iron Man 3. In 2002 Kingsley was appointed as Knight Bachelor and in 2000 he was made a Commander British Empire’s order.

Kingsley’s father is Gujarati Indian and whereas his mother is British. He grew up in Pendlebury, near Manchester where he spent his childhood. He studied in Manchester Grammar School and later he gained his higher education in the University of Salford and at Pendleton College.
