Best known for his performance in the FX TV series Dirt as Holt McLaren is very talented American actor Josh Stewart. Stewart was born on February 6, 1977 as Joshua Regnall "Josh" Stewart with white ethnicity. He was born as the son of Margie and Charles Regnall Stewart in Diana, West Virginia. While attending West Virginia Wesleyan College, he discovered his interest in acting.  Stewart then studied Business after being transferred to West Virginia University. Right after the graduation, Stewart moved to New York in order to pursue his acting career.

Before moving to New York city, Stewart did local theater at the Landmark Theatre in Sutton, West Virginia. He then studied at the T. Schreiber studios in New York. In the mean while, he appeared in The WB series Dawson's Creek episode "To Green, With Love". He also appeared in Then Came Jones in 2003. But he had a break in his career only by his appearance in the final season of the NBC series Third Watch as Brendan Finney. He then appeared in a movie named Lenexa, 1 Mile that was a directing debut of Jason Wiles. After then, he appeared in Dirt and in ABC's No Ordinary Family right after the cancellation of Dirt.

He made his conventional feature film debut in the year 2008 by playing the character of Benjamin's crewmate, Pleasant Curtis in Curious Case of Benjamin Button. In the same year he appeared in The Haunting of Molly Hartley playing the role of Mary Hartley's teacher, Mr. Draper. The horror movie called The Collector was his first feature film where he appeared as Arkin. In the year 2010, Stewart appeared in a movie Beneath the Dark that was originally titled Wake. In this way, Stewart has appeared in number of movies and television series portraying different characters.

Josh Stewart has been able to make his place in the industry by earning a wonderful salary, which eventually makes a wonderful net worth.
